Ralph Dergance

Ralph retired from Lockheed Martin in 1999 after a career that encompassed 41 calendar years beginning with The Martin Company as an intern in the summer of 1958. He started his career as a Propulsion Engineer on the venerable Titan programs. He then worked his specialty and systems engineering on several launch vehicle and spacecraft programs. He also had various assignments across the entire spectrum of responsibilities including program, personnel, and proposal management, business development, independent research and development, and was Director of Acquisition Management for Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company at the time of his retirement. After retirement, along with being a consultant for several companies, he became heavily involved with the youth of his community volunteering as mentor, tutor, and coach. Along with Shades of Blue, he is very active in Optimist International where he has held many offices including Club Director and President as well as Lt Governor and Community Development Chairman of the Colorado/Wyoming District. He simultaneously earned bachelors degrees in Aeronautical Engineering and Business Management from the University of Colorado in 1964.
